Your course lives and gets reviewed on GitHub, so before submitting it you have to connect a verified GitHub identity. That's the GitHub attribution block in your instructor space.
When it's needed
Section titled “When it's needed”Only when you submit the proposal. You can create your instructor account, fill in your profile and write the whole course without GitHub connected.
How to connect it
Section titled “How to connect it”In your instructor space, press Connect GitHub.
Authorise the connection on GitHub.
You come back with a verified identity and the block marked as completed.
Decide the name before connecting
Section titled “Decide the name before connecting”This is where you choose the name you appear under publicly as the course author. If you'd rather use a pseudonym, create an account without your real name before connecting it — the GitHub signup guide covers that step and how to keep your email private.
If that account was already in use
Section titled “If that account was already in use”If the GitHub you connect already belongs to a profile associated with another Authentik account, the connection won't happen by itself: sign in with that other account, or ask support to verify both are yours. If what we find is an earlier profile of yours, we take you to the recovery process.
